Your order will have a mixed lot of cuttings from almost 1"" caliper to 3/8"". A standard mix will be 1/3 large and 2/3 small. Majority of cuttings are 10 inches. Included will have detailed instructions on how to root in water (recommended for increased growth and 95% survival rate.) Tree can grow in partial shade but tree prefers full sun. You will receive 50 starts. For PRIVACY, it is recommended that you prune the tops for the first few years to force thicker growth. It is also important that you AT LEAST plant them every 5 feet. For effective WIND BLOCK in winter when they lose their leaves, it is recommended that you stagger two rows and plant them 10 feet apart with an 8 foot space between rows (obviously the closer you plant them... the thicker and more excellent the hedge) With this formula
